A public forum has asked equine enthusiasts in its local area to share their views about horse care and riding.
Harpenden People is seeking out residents, citizens and equestrians willing to open up about their opinions regarding whether it should be made easier to ride on Harpenden Common through an extension of the bridlepaths.
Those wishing to get their feelings known have been invited to air their thoughts on issues such as horse mess, as well as the extent to which riding should be allowed - for example, the speed at which the creature may go.
In addition, dog walkers, ramblers and cyclists who also make use of this region have been asked to chime in.
"Do you welcome horses on the Common? Is the sight a rural ideal? Or could the presence of a horse being close by be potentially frightening to young children?" the news source asked.
Elsewhere, riders planning on hacking out in unfamiliar areas might find it beneficial to purchase horse insurance and good quality safety gear.
