Horse riding video games 'difficult to translate'

Horse insurance customers are among those who may like to indulge themselves in their favourite hobby in other ways than sitting in the saddle.
However, according to a piece in the Lexington Herald-Leader, there seem to be few opportunities for them to do so in front of a video game.
Experts quoted in the article point out that despite most other widely-attended sporting events and pastimes - such as Major League Baseball, the Superbowl and the World Wrestling Entertainment - translating well to a console such as the X-Box or Nintendo DS, equestrian does not seem to fit the bill.
Shaun Conlin, editor in chief of Evergeek Media, highlighted the fact that although some people draw a parallel between racing games and riding, there is a big difference.
"You ride a horse; you don't drive it. So translating that to a normal, familiar game doesn't make sense," he explained.
In the meantime, fans who prefer to stay behind the reins could be well advised to buy horse insurance for their own safety.
