Horse care advocates preparing their festive celebrations early might like to mark December 10th as a date to save on their calendars.
The Donkey Sanctuary has announced it will hold its annual candlelight ceremony on the Friday evening at its Slade House farm - the only one of its several facilities to be open to the public.
Supporters wishing to attend the event can join from as early as 15:30 GMT, with staff and helpers lighting thousands of candles around the shelter.
In addition, carol singing will be held and accompanied by the Honiton Brass Band, and light seasonal refreshments such as mince pies will be on offer.
Moreover, supporters can light their own candles in memory of family, friends, loved ones or even a special furry companion that has passed away.
"Candlelight is becoming more and more popular, and last year over 15,000 candles were lit," the charity explained.
