A coalition of horse care charities have banded together in order to educate some local authorities.
Redwings joined forces with The Horse Trust in an effort to host a specialist equine welfare training course for Trading Standards officers and charity welfare inspectors.
Led by Nicolas de Brauwere, head of welfare and senior vet at Redwings and Liane Crowther, welfare and education officer at The Horse Trust, it is a small part of an initiative which looks to further the support and training offered to people who deal with equine welfare, health and veterinary practices throughout the UK, so that they feel confident doing so.
"This course represents a first step towards developing a standardised training curriculum for all those that investigate equine welfare concerns," Ms Crowther said.
Previously, Redwings announced it is to be featured on the new Channel Four show Animal Madhouse, due to be televised tonight (November 10th).
