A woman has been taken to hospital after she hit a tree in a fall from her mount, in news that may well see her making a claim on her horse insurance.
According to the Herfordshire Mercury, the equestrian - thought to be in her 40s - was riding the animal in a field near Standon when the incident occurred.
Emergency crews from Bishops Stortford and Hertford provided treatment at the scene before immobilising the woman and transferring her to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
The East of England Ambulance Service spokesman, Gary Sanderson, told the news source that the female had collided with a tree during her tumble.
"When the paramedics arrived at the scene, she was found lying in a field and complaining of pains in her chest," he added.
Horse riders may like to ensure they invest in proper safety gear to lessen their chances of any serious injuries when riding.
