A brand new horse care facility has been built in Mattersey.
According to the Retford Times, Derby House Stables has existed since 2002 but has just been expanded to include state of the art resources.
These include three more floodlit arenas - which can be hired by people wishing to practice horse events - as well as a cross-country course and an all-weather dressage ring.
"I was looking left, right and centre for places I could move to with my daughter Sabrina, who is a show jumper, with better facilities," owner Juliet Harrison, who splashed the cash to improve the institution, explained, noting she had then realised that the perfect place was right under her nose.
The facility also hosts riding classes, including specialities in dressage and showjumping, and former England event rider Lindsay McDonald offers lessons in equine management.
Before beginning any new persuasion of equestrian, riders might find that they are well placed to purchase horse insurance to assure themselves of the safety of both rider and mount.
