Rider rushed to hospital

A rider has been rushed to hospital with a suspected arm injury after falling from her mount, in news which may see a horse insurance claim filed.

The Eastern Daily Press reports that the female equestrian tumbled from her steed in a field just outside Wells.

She was in so much pain that the Anglia One air ambulance was called to the scene after it was decided that the hospitals were too far away for her to reach comfortably through any other form of transport.

The rider was sedated and given pain relief at the scene and she has been declared as in a stable condition upon her arrival at the medical facility.

Although it is unknown whether she was wearing a hard helmet at the time of the accident, buying such an item may help guard riders should they fall, as would body protectors, good quality riding boots and potentially a horse insurance policy.
