Volunteers For The World Equestrian Games

With this year's World Equestrian Games being held in Kentucky Horse Park, it is the biggest sporting event ever held in the state, so spectators and visitors alike are both excited and apprehensive about the competition. Obviously many hours of training and preparation by the riders are necessary, and numerous finer details such as transport and accommodation logistics, not to mention comprehensive horse insurance, also need to be taken care of. However, behind the scenes of the WEG it will take around ten thousand volunteers to make everything run smoothly and to help bring an all-round superb atmosphere that everybody can enjoy.
An estimated 600,000 guests will be attending this years' World Equestrian Games, which means that the sixteen day course of events will need to run as perfectly as possible, without any hitches, and this cannot happen without the help of all of the people that choose to take the time to volunteer. Volunteering for the World Equestrian Games is not only an experience that many are sure to find fulfilling, but those that choose to do so will feel as though they are contributing on a bigger scale to the amazing time that will be had by all.
There are two different ways that you can volunteer for this years' World Equestrian Games, and which suits you best is down to the skills that you hold. Being split into two groups, general volunteers and competition volunteers, means that you can pick whichever type will suit your skills the best. This means that you will not be taking on a job that you know nothing about, and will struggle to do your best at.
Competition volunteers are there to help in one of the specific test categories, meaning that they will need knowledge in that field so that they can complete tasks to the best of their ability. Also, it is asked that you have previous experience in the role that you are playing, or in volunteering for events in general, so that it can be sure that you will be up to scratch, and able to withhold the high standards expected in the World Equestrian Games.
If you have not had any past experience in volunteering for any of the test events that will be in the World Equestrian Games, then becoming a general volunteer may be more up your street. With a wide variety of responsibilities that this could bring to you, and the success of the competition being a combined effort of everybody that is helping out, every single volunteer is important, and every little job done can help to make the games be as perfect as everybody is anticipating.
