Animal Friends Equine would love to support all the wonderful horse charities...

Rosette...but of course it's impossible to assist them all financially. We can, however, support the many deserving animal welfare charities on these pages of our blog, and hope that you enjoy reading about them!

When it comes to those involved in equestrianism, it tends to be all or nothing and somewhat of an addiction to the beautiful animals. Because of this, horse lovers often jump at the chance to give to charities relating to them, in order to ensure that they all have the quality of life that they deserve.

One horse loving organisation that is popular is the Equine Rescue and Rehoming, Forum, which aims to give horses another chance in life. They recently organised a Virtual Horseshow to raise money for unfortunate horses. With a variety of different classes to submit your horse to, including best turned out, dressage and lookalikes, amongst others, this was great fun way to help horses and ponies. By sending photos in to the charity, along with a 50p donation, you have a chance of winning one of these categories, and will also be contributing to a great cause.

Another great charity that you may have heard of is the Redwings Horse Sanctuary. For over twenty five years Redwings has taken horses, ponies, mules and donkeys into its care in order to give them the treatment that they deserve, and may not otherwise have had. Around five hundred horses been re-homed to date, with about seventy others joining them in getting new lives each year; Redwings currently look after a staggering 1000 equines in need of love, care and attention.

Redwings have one hundred volunteers to help them in their quest to stop cruelty and neglect to horses, and these have been fruitful in their efforts, with some sites having between fifty and seventy horses and ponies removed from them in a single day so that they can stop being mistreated, and can finally have the lives that they truly deserve. Redwings have been caring for 61 rescued equines from the high profile Spindles Farm horse cruelty case, some of which are now ready for rehoming thanks to the care given by the team of horse lovers at the sanctuary.

Also available for horse lovers, is the Redwings Show, which sees competitors compete in a variety of different events for this wonderful cause. With many events that the charity attends, also, you can find them all over the place - spreading the word of their fantastic work with horses.

Animal neglect and abuse is something that many people feel very passionate and strongly about - and by giving to either of these charities, you can be contributing to trying to end it for the horses of Britian.
