Horse care organisation clarifies Spindles Farm rehoming

Equine care organisation Redwings has responded to the news that the RSPCA is looking for owners to rehome the horses rescued from the Amersham atrocity.
Some 17 equines from Spindles Farm are now seeking new residences, after experts at the RSPCA decided they were well enough - and Redwings says that some of its own 61 refugees from the horse cruelty case may follow in their hoofprints soon.
However, they will be rehomed through the organisation's current scheme and this may not be for a while as professionals at the shelter carefully assess the welfare and wellbeing of the animals to see whether or not they are psychologically ready to move on.
Moreover, the donkeys rescued from the farm - including Esther and Tim - will not be offered for rehoming, due to a policy which states that Redwings donkeys are permanent residents.
Meanwhile, James Grey, convicted of cruelty in the case, has been given an additional two months in jail after absconding during sentencing.
