Police are warning horse owners in the Felbridge, Surrey area to remain vigilant after a vicious attack has left a mare recovering with two wounds after being shot with a crossbow on the morning of 12th of April.
Police have stated that they have found a 15 inch crossbow bolt in the mare’s field after the attack, prompting the investigation into this cruel attack on an unwitting animal.
As ownership of a crossbow is enforced by law, the search is focussed on all instances of people who own a crossbow in the local area. The attack has left both horse and owner distressed, and the police are calling for anyone in the Felbridge area to come forward if they know of anyone who owns a crossbow or may have heard any details about such an attack.
